Option 1: Directed Trust Administration

Directed Trusts allow for the bifurcation of trustee duties among multiple parties. The grantor can create his or her all-star team of advisors to manage the trust assets in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Biltmore remains the administrative trustee, providing basic trust administration services (e.g. following distribution and investment instructions, holding legal title to trust assets, preparing and signing tax returns, receiving contributions, etc.), while taking direction from a Trust Protector, Distribution Committee and/or Investment Advisor/Committee, or a combination of them. Family members, friends and trusted advisors can typically fill these roles to ensure that your wishes are protected.

This more traditional trustee model is convenient, and allows for a ‘one-stop shop’ for all of your trustee needs. Option 3: Delegated Trust Administration

Biltmore also offers delegated trust administration services.  This model allows for clients to utilize Biltmore’s trust administration services while outsourcing investment management services.  In most delegated trusts, Biltmore is granted investment discretion under the terms of the trust document.  After thorough and comprehensive due diligence, Biltmore delegates investment responsibility to a qualified third-party investment manager.  Biltmore specializes in delegating investment management services by engaging premier, independent, professional investment managers to manage our clients’ portfolios.  The investment manager works closely with you in formulating an investment policy statement.  Biltmore will monitor the investment manager’s performance on a regular basis, and oversee that the investment manager does not significantly deviate from the investment policy statement and the overall performance objectives of your portfolio.
